Certified Personal Trainer

Job Title: Certified Personal Trainer – YMCA

Position Type: Part-Time

Position Summary:
The YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and certified Personal Trainer who is passionate about helping individuals of all ages and fitness levels reach their health and wellness goals. This role focuses on building relationships, creating safe and effective fitness programs, and supporting a welcoming, inclusive environment that reflects the YMCA’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct fitness assessments and develop personalized workout programs

• Provide one-on-one and small group personal training sessions

• Educate members on proper exercise techniques and equipment use

• Motivate and support members in achieving their health and wellness goals

• Maintain accurate training records and client progress notes

• Promote YMCA programs, services, and member engagement

• Ensure a clean, safe, and positive wellness environment

• Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow YMCA safety procedures

Qualifications:

• Current nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent)

• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work with diverse populations including youth, adults, and seniors

• Passion for health, wellness, and community engagement

• Previous personal training or fitness instruction experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to demonstrate exercises and proper fitness techniques

• Lift and move fitness equipment as needed

• Stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods
